Questions to ask

The three to five points worth raising with the other side before you sign, ranked by how much they could cost you.

The problem

Most people sign without a second read.

A lawyer charges $250 to $650 to look at one contract, and it usually takes about a week. So the auto-renewal you missed, or the clause that hands over your work, goes through unread.

~60 min

Standard review turnaround. A lawyer takes about five days.

$1

Trial review. A lawyer's quick-look starts at $250.

AI-only

Read by software. No lawyer reviews it and nobody signs off.

Pricing

Start for $1. Buy a pack when you're ready.

You don't sign contracts on a schedule, so you buy reviews in packs and use them when you need them. Credits last 12 months. All prices in USD.

How it works

What happens after you upload.

For anyone who wants to check before paying.

01 · Upload

Tell us about it

Drop your contract (PDF, Word, or paste). Tell us which country's laws apply and what you're worried about. Ninety seconds, start to finish.

02 · We read it

Every clause, scored

Each clause is pulled out, sorted by type and set against similar clauses from contracts we've reviewed before. The ones that look unusual or one-sided get flagged.

03 · You decide

A second opinion, yours to act on

The report tells you which clauses to look at and why, with suggested wording where it helps. We don't sign off and we don't tell you whether to sign. What you do next is up to you.

How your contract gets read

Your contract goes through five passes. First every clause is pulled out and labelled. Then each one is matched with similar clauses from contracts we've already reviewed, scored for risk, and written up in plain English.

Every review adds to that library, so a lease clause today is compared with more leases than it was last month.

Questions

Frequently asked.

No. ReCounsel is a second-opinion service. We help you understand your contracts. We do not give legal advice, we do not sign off, and we do not tell you whether to sign. For anything you're unsure about, talk to a lawyer.
If you paste a contract into ChatGPT you get one read and a general answer. ReCounsel reads it in passes, compares each clause with similar ones from contracts we've reviewed, and applies the law of the country you pick. So the report can say a clause is broader than most supplier agreements, and show you which part.
Prices are in USD. Stripe handles the conversion for non-US buyers at live rates. A $19 review is about £15 or €18.
A lawyer charges $250 to $650 per contract and takes three to seven days. ReCounsel delivers a Standard review in about an hour, starting with a $1 trial. A lawyer is still valuable for negotiation, disputes, or anything you sign under pressure. ReCounsel is the fast second opinion for the “should I worry about this?” moment.
The United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Canada and Australia. Pick the country whose law applies when you start. If yours isn't listed, choose Other and the review covers general contract principles.
Contact us before purchasing at hello@re-counsel.com. If we can't help, no charge. If we can, we'll confirm scope and price up-front.
If you're unsatisfied with a report, we'll re-review at no charge or refund within 7 days of delivery. The $1 trial is money-back too. If the teaser isn't useful, we'll refund it.
For contracts you sign, yes. That includes a job offer or a rental lease. For personal disputes such as divorce, immigration or a fight with a landlord already under way, talk to a lawyer.
A $1 trial teaser lands in about 15 minutes. A Standard review takes about 60 minutes. A Deep review takes about 2 hours. If it's later than that, check your spam folder for the delivery email, then contact us at hello@re-counsel.com with the email you used at signup.
Email hello@re-counsel.com within 7 days of delivery. Include the email you paid with. The $1 trial is money-back too. Refunds above $50 or outside the 7-day window get a personal reply from the team.
You buy credit packs and there's no monthly subscription, so you're only charged when you buy. If a charge looks wrong, email hello@re-counsel.com with the charge date and last-four of the card. We'll trace it and reply the same business day.
Yes. Reports are yours. Forward the PDF or share the link. We only ask that you don't republish or resell the report itself.
Yes. Your contract is used only to produce your report. It isn't shared, and it isn't used to train third-party models. Read the details in the Privacy Policy.
For a clarifying question about your report, contact hello@re-counsel.com. Deep reviews add country-specific notes, not an ongoing AI chat service. For legal advice on what to do, talk to a lawyer.

We built ReCounsel because our own contracts kept waiting a week and costing hundreds to get read. We wanted a fast second opinion we could act on the same afternoon. So we built it.
